We are working to create a better San Francisco for young children. As part of Your Child, Your Voice, parents and families of young children living in San Francisco have been sharing their experience and opinions with us to inform our work on behalf of children and families.
As we collect valuable information from parents participating in Your Child, Your Voice, we will use this page to share out our findings so that we can continuously learn from each other.

The San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education (OECE) and First 5 San Francisco (First 5 SF) launched the Your Child, Your Voice parent survey panel in February, 2021 in order learn from and collaborate with parents as we work to develop a plan that will create a better San Francisco for young children. Over 1,600 San Francisco residents who are parents of young children registered to speak up in support of children, families, and their community. Here is a snapshot of Your Child, Your Voice participants:
Of the 1,632 San Francisco parents who registered for Your Child, Your Voice, 39% identified as Asian (not Filipino or Pacific Islanser), 29% identified as Hispanic / Latino, 12% identified as White, 9% identified as Black / African American, 2% identified as Filipino, 2% identified as Asian Pacific Islander, 2% identified as American Indian / Native American, 1% identified as Middle Easters, 2% identified as Other, and 2% preferred not to say.
43% of Your Child, Your Voice Participants have Preschool-aged children, 23% have Elementary-aged children, 23% have Toddlers, 7% have Infants, and 3% are currently pregnant.
Your Child, Your Voice parents can participate in English, Spanish, and Chinese. 50% of participates preferred to receive communications in English, 30% preferred to receive communications in Chinese, and 20% preferred to receive communications in Spanish.
Your Child, Your Voice is a partnership between the San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education (OECE) and First 5 San Francisco (F5SF).
