Sandra Naughton began her work with the San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education as the Data and Evaluation Manager and was the Chief Operating Officer from March, 2017 – October, 2017. She now serves as a Principal Administrative Analyst working remotely on special projects.
Sandra has almost two decades of experience in the public and nonprofit sector serving children and families. Prior to her work with OECE, she served as the City Lead in the Office of Mayor Edwin Lee for the Our Children, Our Families Council. As the founding staff member of the new entity, she led research, partnership cultivation, legislation, and fundraising of the collective impact effort, including the development of its research-based Outcomes Framework. Prior to that, Sandra led education policy efforts at the City’s Department of Children, Youth and Their Families for 7 years. Sandra worked on early care and education and other policy issues at the state level while Co-Director of Education at Children Now, and worked for several organizations on national research and advocacy for out of school time. Sandra earned a BS in Journalism from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and a Master’s in Public Policy from UC Berkeley. She began her career as an educator working with high-needs public school students in an AmeriCorps program.
