Opportunities to Engage
As OECE works to develop a First Five-Year Spending Plan for potential Prop C funds, we will offer varied modes of engagement in the planning process, intentionally providing multiple ways for parents, families, early educators, and San Francisco community members to engage and participate. New opportunities to engage in the planning process will be posted to this page as they become available so we encourage you to check back frequently.
Opportunities to Engage:
Early Care and Education For All Initiative Town Hall #2!
Over the last 7 months, OECE collected input from parents, families, early educators, ECE stakeholders, and San Francisco community members on their priorities, needs, and opportunities for ECE in San Francisco in order to help inform a First 5 Year Spending plan for Baby Prop C funds.
On Saturday, June 8, 2019, 1pm-3pm, OECE will host a Town Hall Meeting at the San Francisco City College Multi Use Building (MUB) in order to share a summary of community input collected throughout this process as well as our draft Spending Plan proposal. Interpretation will be provided in Cantonese and Spanish and snacks and refreshments will be served.

Prop C Discussion Toolkit – Lead a Prop C Priorities Discussion at your next staff, community, or parent meeting!
OECE understands that taking extra time to participate in public engagement opportunities can be challenging for busy professionals and parents of young children. In order to make engagement in the Prop C planning process as convenient as possible, we have developed a toolkit of materials that can be used by any interested parent, educator, or community group to guide a structured conversation on Prop C priorities and share feedback with OECE. Our hope is that the toolkit will enable those who can’t make it to other engagement opportunities to provide us their feedback via meetings they already attend. The toolkit materials and training webinar (linked below) will provide an overview and description of Prop C, give step-by-step instructions on facilitating an activity and follow-up discussion to collect feedback, and a guide on how to report the responses to OECE.
Training Webinar: On February 1, 2019 OECE hosted a live training webinar to explain the materials and steps involved in hosting a Prop C discussion with the toolkit. If you were unable to attend the webinar or would like to review the content, you can watch a recording of the training at the link below.
