Early Learning SF is an online system that makes it easier to find financial assistance for affordable, high quality early care and education.

What is Early Learning SF?

Early Learning SF is an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly website that connects families to quality early care and education. After answering a few questions about your family, income, and what type of program you are looking for, the system matches you to available early care and education programs. You can review information about the programs, and communicate directly with staff from the programs to find out more.

Early Learning SF is available in English, Chinese and Spanish.

Early Learning SF replaces the San Francisco Child Care Connections, or SF3C, system.

How does an Early Care and Education Program Participate?

In order to participate in Early Learning SF, programs must be OECE-funded. If you are an OECE-funded program who is not yet receiving referrals for City-funded enrollments through the new system, sign up for an Early Learning SF training. At the training you will receive login instructions and an overview of the system. Contact the Help Desk to register for a training: 415-343-4669 or support@childrenscouncil.org

Background on Early Learning SF

In 2017, OECE participated in the City and County of San Francisco’s  Startup in Residence program, which matches city departments with a technology company to address a challenge. OECE partnered with MCT Technology, Inc. to redesign the centralized child care eligibility list known as San Francisco Child Care Connections, or SF3C. The goal was to provide a more effective system that families could access 24/7 to help them find financial assistance to attend high quality early care and education systems..

The new system, called Early Learning SF, launched in November 2018.
