Ms. Ayala is a native San Franciscan. She received a Bachelor’s of Social Work from San Francisco State University. Her professional social services career began in 1996. Claudia has worked with multi-generational families in various settings including employment, education, nonprofit, and community-based organizations. Her experience includes comprehensive case management services, youth development, program management, and program planning. Claudia brings a strength-based and ecological approach to working with individuals, families, programs and policy.
Claudia worked at the Teenage Pregnancy and Parenting Program for 13 years. In 2005 she co-led the development of the first teen-parent led Young Family Resource Center (YFRC) in San Francisco. She served as the program manager for 5 years at YFRC. Additionally she worked as a CalWORKs Social Worker providing case management services to families receiving public benefits. Claudia understands the importance of linking families to early care and education programs and the positive impact it has on both parent and child. She believes that all families should be treated with dignity and respect. She is a mother of two sons and enjoys photography.
